Penny Darlings

Welcome to my latest side-side-side project: Penny Darlings.

These particular pieces are named as such, because the very first one made fit ever so delightfully onto a penny (and while they may look a little dark to some they certainly are more darling than dreadful).

The anatomical or historical images in the particular examples below (which coincidentally are all skeletal) were selected at the unbeknownst request of the individuals who have received them as sample pieces.

Rana temporaria (Frog)

Necklace, scale: one penny.

Monodon monoceros (Narwhal)

Badge, scale: three pennies.

Ornithorhynchus anatinus (Platypus)

Badge, scale: two pennies.

Scutisorex somereni (Hero Shrew)

I have begun making a series of these pieces (as necklaces, badges, earrings, rings, and more) which will be exhibited at an upcoming fair. However, if you are interested in purchasing one for your very own self (and live on the internet and therefore not local to me) I am happy to do commissioned pieces.*

These do not have to be anatomical or historical images, nor do they have to be black and white, I am happy to draw anything from unicorns to tax forms.**

You can contact me here to discuss details (design, size, colours, findings, etc). The price will vary depending on all of these factors, but consider that the above examples would be about £5.00 – £7.00 + postage.

**Apparently when you ask the internet what the opposite of a unicorn is, they do not respond with tax forms. However, they do respond with some brilliant things and so I present to you:

While I was at it, I also asked the internet to nominate some animals, which they did unaware that I planned to turn them into some more colourful and complex pieces. Which you can now see below…

The quite cute (but looks a bit like a poo) crested vertigo snail (Vertigo pygmaea) magnet:

The happy axolotl:

Scale: three pennies.

The proud pine marten:

Scale: many pennies.

The femur ring:

Scale: one penny (in diametre).

Please note, if you’re interested in something a bit more colourful or complex the price will vary depending on all of the factors mentioned above (design, size, colours, findings, etc), but consider that the above examples would be about £5.00 – £12.00 + postage.
